During a perception-action therapy session, your child will:

  • have therapy in a setting designed to promote active exploration.
  • engage in play while the therapist uses gentle hands and light touch to guide movements and changes in posture.
  • be allowed time to explore new movement possibilities while given careful attention of the therapist.
  • be expected to move to the best of his/her ability, rather than being moved by the therapist.

Parent, guardian or caregiver will participate in each session to help with activities and learn ways to practice emerging motor skills at home.
