Advanced Certification Program

Project of Competency
 in the Perception-Action Approach

LEVEL: Advanced

The IPAA Certification Program is a dynamic, experiential process designed to expand and refine the clinician’s use of P-A Approach skills.
Advanced Certification Program Prerequisite:

  1. Successful completion of the 5-day P-A Approach "Learn to Move, Move to Learn" Course.
  2. Successful completion of the P-A Approach Basic Certification Course and recommendation by mentor
Advanced Certification Course: Certification candidate presents a Project of Competency to an assigned Instructor/Examiner, to demonstrate competency/skills unique to the P-A Approach. Upon approval from the examiner, the candidate achieves Advanced Certification in the P-A Approach (C/PAA).

Are you ready to take the next step in your professional development?  After completing both the 5-Day Learn to Move, Move to Learn Perception-Action Course and the Basic Certification Course with recommendation by Mentor, enroll in our exclusive Advanced Certification Course.

This course requires attendance at either a live in-person Movement Matters Course or live online Learn to Move, Move to Learn lectures to refresh key concepts and theories. The Certification Candidate will then present a Project of Competency to an assigned  Instructor / Examiner, further known as Examiner. The Candidate will demonstrate competency/skills unique to the P-A Approach using intervention videos, a written report, and a dialogue/discussion with Examiner. Following completion of the Project, and approval from the Examiner, the Candidate will be Certified by the Certification Committee and can then use C/PAA (Certified in Perception-Action Approach) as a professional title designation. The Project Course includes the following:

  • The Candidate prepares two (15 minute) intervention videos (one child) and a written report and forwards these to the Examiner along with the following: (1) Child information form and (2) Photo consent signed by the parent/guardian.
  • The written report relates the videos to the Competencies and follows the  guidelines enclosed within the Certification Information.
  • Upon completion of the video and write-up an IPAA Instructor will be available for feedback and consultation prior to submission to the Examiner for review.
  • The Project is reviewed by the Examiner using objective criteria.
  • Examiner will determine if the Candidate has demonstrated successful completion for IPAA Certification.
  • Recommendation will be forwarded to the Certification Committee.
  • The Committee contacts the Candidate, in writing, of their Certification status.
