Mary Pomeroy, PT has practiced as a pediatric physical therapist for 46 years in the states of Louisiana, Michigan and Alaska as well as in Kenya, Africa. Her 2nd degree in Therapeutic Recreation has been interfaced with her pediatric PT services. Her experience has been in a variety of settings including private, school settings and hospitals. For the last 10 years, she has volunteered her PT services in Malawi, Africa, initiating a program for children. Professional responsibilities have included: APTA Pediatric Section state of Alaska representative, member of the State of Alaska PT/OT Licensing, BOD member for Infant Learning Program and Malawi Children’s Village. She has presented for school districts in Alaska. She was a member of the Tscharnuter Akademie for Movement Organization (TAMO) instructor group and currently on the BOD for Institute for Perception-Action Approach. Mary is co-director of the Certification Committee. She participates in the Perception-Action Approach study group in Alaska. She has presented on the Perception-Action Approach in many Alaskan community continuing education courses and at this time is co-authoring and conducting research on the use of Perception-Action Approach for the infant with congenital muscular torticollis.
